Northern had an excellent victory over Cardiff North with Russell Palmer and Steve Hood playing the starring roles. Site's had a few updates including the profile pages.

A new season has begun. Northern got promoted in 3rd after teams above them folded and given the previous season in the 2nd division ended in one win all year it's going to be tough and needs players to make every effort to attend. So far we've had a bye, two games rained off and one game played which ended in a Tie.

Two games played and two games rained off in the last month. The two games played were comfortable wins highlighted by the excellent batting of Jimmy and Steve who scored 143 for the loss of one wicket between them across the 2 games.N Northern are well placed in the league ahead of the game against 4th placed Clwb.

Funny few games since the last update - a good win against Maccabi before getting knocked out of the cup with a weak performance against Duke of Clarence. Then last Tuesday a potentially record breaking batting collapse with us falling from 27-0 to 28-8 and finally 31 all out as 8 batsmen got ducks. And I use the term batsmen very loosely. And now we get to play a top division side in the cup with half a team missing.

Ok, so yesterday we took a pasting. Handy thing with that is it means the fantasy league points didn't move too much so we'll keep the competition open for the next 2 weeks until the game on 3rd June. Email me with your entries by then and we'll count them. Teams entered so far are from Charles, Chris and myself.

Time for the start of an exciting new competition based on the fantasy cricket. Below is an ranking list of all players in the Northern team. Don't heckle me as it's just made up. What you need to do if you want to enter is text or email me before Mondays game.
What you need to do is pick a team of 5 players using the points available below and it MUST include yourself. You cannot total more than 50 points. Your score in the competition is the combined total of fantasy cricket points scored by your players (points scored already DO count). We'll discuss if its for some money (maybe £5 paying out a top 3?) on Monday.

Long awaited update of the site. Cardiff Northern are actively recruiting for the 2007 season following a relegation from division 2 mostly down to hardly ever getting 11 on the pitch. |
