Northern went behind to an Admiral goal which came from a volley from the edge of the box. With Mustey alone up front Northern didn't seem able to break down the Admiral defence and didn't have a shot inside the box in the entire half. At half time substitutions were made and on came Andrew Pill and Gareth Bartlett as Northern reverted to a 4-4-2 formation.  Bartlett immediately made an impact in the midfield by passing and moving simply and effectively.  A cross from Mustey allowed Pill to control the ball and he squeezed it into the bottom corner for one all.  The game was now all about Northern and when Fundalski put Northern ahead with 10 minutes to go it wasn't a surprise.  Further Northern pressure saw Mustey hit a post and Palfrey missing a sitter and it was almost inevitable when a hopeful Admiral shot from outside the box caught Mark Manley unaware and it went in the net. Northern could have been shattered by this but deep into injury time David Manley and Fundalski combined on the right and the cross was delivered to the backpost and a downward header from Mustey brought the winner. There was some suggestion of the goal being offside but no-one could argue that Northern were worth the 3 points.
